How to understand changing the tension on your embroidery and sewing machine, straight to the point

Before changing the tension, remember what the default tension was. That way if the tension gets all screwed up you can always go back to default.

Please note that changing the tension should always be your last step.

Understanding tension:

     - If the upper tension is too tight, the bobbin thread will be showing on top. Lower the tension to loosen it. 

     - If the upper tension is too loose, most of the upper thread will be showing on the bottom. Raise the tension to tighten it. 

Higher number = tighter tension

Lower number = looser tension
