How I made article 2

Welcome to the next article in my how I made article series. Here I’ll be sharing all the projects that I make and the steps that I take. Feel free to join along and do the project with me or even just read about the process! Today I will be creating a simple ‘happy birthday’ card.

What I used:

Black cardstock

White cardstock

Grey cardstock

1.0 aqua gel pen

Cricut black fine point pen

Scoring stylus

How I made it:

To start this project I looked for a design to use, I choose a happy birthday card by cricut. I didn’t want to create the envelope and I needed to customize a few other colours and pens so I added the project to my canvas.

I adjusted the cardstock colours and the pen type and colours until I liked the look. You can find the modified project here!

And simple as that, I clicked make it and loaded mats, my pens and scoring stylus as stated and left my cutting blade in the clamp.

Now that everything was cut and drawn, it was time to assemble. I folded the black cardstock from the scoring line and glued the grey cardstock to the middle of the front of the card. Now to finish off the card, I glued the white cardstock, with the drawn design, to the middle of the grey cardstock.

There you go. Card is complete and ready for customization!

** update - once I went to go customize this card, I realized that I didn’t have a white pen (to write on the inside of the card with). So I went back to my canvas and detached the layers. I deleted every layer except for the one white cardstock cut. I cut out the white cardstock and glued it to the inside of the card on the bottom middle. **

Let me know what project I should make next time!

Or have you just purchased a design and don't know how to now transfer that design to your embroidery machine? Either way, here's how! After you have purchased an embroidery design, you will most likely get a zip file. First, you want to unzip the file. On a Chromebook you will double-tap the file On windows, you will want to right-click the file and select the option unzip  And on a Mac, you will right-click on the file and click into services, from there you will want to click unzip Yay! Now you have successfully unzipped the file! After that, you will want to drag the format that your machine uses (for example Brother is PES) to where the USB is in files.  Or you can click the format, click CTRL+C and click into the USB in files, and click CTRL+V. If you’re not sure which file format you need, no worries! You
